Fresh Networks

There are currently 15 local tobacco alliances in the North East and these are local partnerships which are working on effective local activity to reduce smoking rates and tackle health inequalities.

Fresh offers support to the alliances through strategic guidance, provision of resources, development of regional programmes based on current evidence base and through the co-ordination of cascading information on key international, national and regional tobacco control initiatives.

In 2007/08 Fresh are supporting the local alliances through a Toolkit which will help to ensure that post smoke free legislation each local alliance undertakes a review of its functionality and partnership and then collectively agrees on a prioritised evidence based action plan for future tobacco control activity.
