Ailsa Rutter, Director of Fresh - Smoke Free North East comments: "Results issued today from a research study conducted by Cancer Research UK indicate a link between exposure to second hand smoke (SHS) in childhood and an increased risk of developing bladder cancer later in life. This extensive study of almost 430,000 people revealed a 40% increased risk of developing the disease, the fourth commonest cancer in men and killing 4,800 people in the UK each year."
