Keep It Out


“Keep it Out’ ran in July-August 2012 through radio and digital advertising.


Keep It Out encouraged people across the North East to contact Crimestoppers if they know where any kind of illegal tobacco is being sold - whether from ‘tab houses’, on the streets, at work or in local pubs and shops.


Taken together, Get Some Answers and Keep it Out came with a raft of materials for partners in local authorities and the NHS including:


  • A PR toolkit
  • Posters, leaflets and online resources like online banner adverts to spread the message about illegal tobacco
  • Materials for local law enforcement teams and housing offices to help raise awareness about illegal tobacco
  • Materials to help generate intelligence about illegal tobacco among shops and pubs
